Lakeside Pharmacy & Whitestone Pharmacy are independent, locally owned pharmacies in rural North Central Washington. The Steinman family owns both pharmacies and Mike & Stephanie work alongside their employees at both locations. Our employees are like family and we work hard to ensure we maintain safe staffing ratios and employee satisfaction. Mike has been a pharmacist for 21 years and has found that independent pharmacy provides him with higher satisfaction in his career choice because he has the freedom to truly practice pharmacy and help people in the community. Independent pharmacies are an integral part of our healthcare system because they help ensure access to healthcare providers in rural areas. Small, locally owned, independent pharmacies looking for a part time pharmacist - this position could become a full time position as business increases and/or for the perfect candidate. We have 2 pharmacies located in Tonasket & Oroville, WA in the beautiful Okanogan Valley. This position will provide needed coverage at both locations to ensure our pharmacists have time off and have a safe workload. It will require 4 hour availability every 3rd Saturday. We are upgrading our software to allow tele-pharmacy capabilities and are offering this position as a hybrid position with most of the work being done in the comfort of your own home. Occasionally if we have a pharmacist on vacation, we would ask you to be physically present for a few days at the pharmacy you are covering - in this case we would provide accommodations for you. We're looking for someone who wants to make a connection with their customers and make a difference in the community. Our pharmacists have envious schedules with most weekends off and at least 1 weekday off every week. We also offer medical benefits and paid vacation to our pharmacists. New grads welcome!
Responsibilities
Review and execute physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medication
Keep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionals
Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures
Perform drug utilization reviews accurately for patient records
Assist in all areas of the pharmacy with ability to identify tasks that need to be done and help auxiliary staff accomplish these tasks
Ability to stay on task when working from home and maintaining workflow
Communicate well with fellow employees and customers. Excellent note taking required and ability to speak with customers through audio/video conference.
Requirements
Valid WA State Pharmacist License
Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc
Good organization skills
Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach
Integrity and compassion
Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
Certified Immunizer preferred
Must be in good standing with OIG
Consistent high speed internet connection, computer with Windows 10 operating system and audio/video capabilities for counseling & communicating with pharmacy staff
