'Lock Up Your Meds' Program begins March 10th

Lakeside Pharmacy & Whitestone Pharmacy have partnered with the Washington Health Care Authority again on their "Lock Up Your Meds" program. It began on March 10th and will go through June 2025.

According to the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration, nearly half of people misusing pain relievers, including prescription opioids, get them from a friend or family member. By offering safe storage options, our pharmacies are working to keep our communities safe.

Anyone who picks up an opioid medication during this campaign will be offered a safe storage option of either a locking vial or a locking bag. The locking devices serve as deterrents to prevent people from having easy access to medications that do not belong to them.

Along with this program, our pharmacies also participate in MedTakeBackWashington and have medication disposal bins at each of our locations.
